George Wright, despite his hereditary palsy, has produced an incredibly significant portfolio that showcases his love of people and zest for life on the eastern shores of Maryland. As Wright prepares for his upcoming art show in New York City, we invite you to visit our location in Cambridge, MD (his hometown) to view our latest inventory of his art pieces available for purchase. One of our favorites is titled “Captain Moxie” (pictured below) which showcases his imaginative ability to tell the stories of the watermen living a lifestyle inherent to the Chesapeake Bay.

George Wright’s Most Notable Artwork and Praise
Wright, a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Art, was chosen not once, not twice, but three times as Artist of the Year for the Grand National Waterfowl Hunt Club. He was also commissioned by the Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore to complete an original rendering of the “Sultan of Swat” titled “Babe’s Babes,” which presently hangs in the Cooperstown, New York Baseball Hall of Fame. He completed an original oil painting for the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame Museum, titled, “A Tradition of Excellence,” which you can see presently hanging at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. He payed homage to Baltimore once again with his original oil painting of former Baltimore Oriole great Eddie Murray, honoring him for his induction to the elite 500-Career home run club.
That’s not all. Wright’s portrait of former Maryland Governor Marvin Mandel hangs in the Maryland Senate, and he was also commissioned by Tom Brown (former Green Bay packer and two-time Super Bowl champion) to complete an original oil painting of Vince Lombardi titled “The Seven Faces of Lombardi.” Wright has also completed hundreds of other private and public commissions.
